In years gone by, April usually signified the end of cricket for the next four months. But as we head toward the end of April here at the Norm O’Neill Cricket Training Facility, all we can say is how times have changed!
Far from slowing down, the facility is buzzing with activity. Here is a look at what we’ve experienced so far this month:

Sold Out Holiday Programs
Our School Holiday Coaching Clinics were a massive success. We hosted four different programs over the break, culminating in a fully booked final clinic with 42 keen cricketers honing their skills.
Representative Trials in Full Swing
Winter Development Squads are now a cornerstone of the cricketing calendar. With trials being held throughout April, our nets have been pumping with skill, effort, and high hopes as players vie for selection.
Winter Competition Prep
As winter cricket competitions grow in popularity, our coaches remain as busy as ever. We are currently hosting:
- Focused one-on-one and small-group lessons.
- Team training sessions for clubs preparing for their winter season openers.
A Thriving Multicultural Community
Cricket is truly a year-round passion for our multicultural communities. We are seeing incredible growth in lane bookings from teams in competitions like the Bangladesh Super League (NSW). The atmosphere they bring to the facility is nothing short of electrifying!
At Norm O’Neill, we are proud to provide a space where the season never truly ends. Whether you are trialing for a rep side or just keeping your eye in, we’ll see you in the nets!
