BE ACTIVE AND EXERCISE TO PREVENT DIABETES WITH OUR ALLIED HEALTH PARTNER cover

Join our group exercise classes at Healthstin and use physical activity to ward off the health risks of diabetes.

Fight the health risks of diabetes with exercise interventions at Healthstin in Hurstville!

Exercise is universally known to offer health benefits for everyone regardless of health condition and functional capacity. For people at risk of diabetes, physical activity is crucial in helping support healthy weight management, as well as controlling blood sugar levels.

Even people who already have diabetes stand to benefit from exercise intervention as it can help make the body sensitive to insulin, the hormone that lets your body use sugar for energy. Physical activity can also be instrumental in lowering your risk of heart disease and nerve damage.

Our Allied Health Clinic in Hurstville hosts Strong and Steady group exercise classes under the Staying Active program every Monday at 9:15am. The classes use strength training to help ward off the risk of diabetes. By building muscle mass, your body can become more efficient in using glucose. Our Exercise Physiologists are also on hand to assess your health condition, design exercise intervention programs, and monitor your progress, regardless of whether you want to avoid the disease or to help manage the risks if you already have diabetes.
