Project Harmony Ensures Swimming Lessons for Underprivileged Preschoolers in Western Sydney
Project Harmony is currently underway. The program which kicked off on April 29th, 2024, is actively bridging the gap in access to swimming lessons for underprivileged preschool children. Spearheaded by Royal Life Saving NSW, this ongoing initiative is supported by the NSW Government and several local governments across Western and South Western Sydney.
The primary objective of Project Harmony is to offer 10 complimentary swimming lessons to children who have previously lacked access to such programs. These sessions, funded by the initiative, are running until July 2024.
The program operates on specific days and times at two locations:
- Hurstville Monday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sans Souci Tuesday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 and Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Additionally, Project Harmony has introduced the "First Lap Voucher" program, which provides a $50 voucher for parents, guardians, and carers of children aged 3-6 years to assist in covering the costs of swimming lessons. Interested parties can use the coupon code FIRSTLAP during checkout.
Project Harmony is making a tangible impact on the lives of young children, ensuring they acquire essential swimming skills regardless of their socio-economic background. The initiative underscores the importance of water safety and aims to reduce the risk of drowning incidents among vulnerable communities.
Organisers urge eligible individuals to check their eligibility online and secure their spots in the swimming lessons using the First Lap Voucher.
