We’re excited to celebrate the St George Sutherland Slayers Women’s Cricket Club, who have just claimed their first-ever NSW Premier Cricket 1st Grade Limited Overs Premiership! After 23 years of commitment and perseverance, this is an incredible milestone for the club-and we couldn’t be prouder.
As neighbours to Norm O’Neill Oval, we’ve had the privilege of supporting the Slayers through training, coaching, and development. The team regularly trains in the nets right next door, and many of their players also receive ongoing coaching and support at Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre.
Adding even more reason to celebrate, our very own Lucy Finn-a staff member at Hurstville Aquatic and Norm O’Neill Oval, and a graduate of the LEA traineeship program-was named Player of the Match! Lucy top scored with 72 runs and took two crucial wickets, including the final match-winning ball that sealed the victory and sparked unforgettable celebrations.
