Imagine a gender equal world, diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where our differences are valued and celebrated. This International Women’s Day, we join the global movement to celebrate the achievements of women and reaffirm our commitment to a world free of bias and stereotypes.
This year’s theme, #GiveToGain, reminds us that when we invest in women through support and opportunity, we all benefit. At Hurstville Aquatic, we are proud to spotlight three of our incredible team members who are making waves and inspiring the next generation.
Meet Amber
Amber is passionate about empowering kids and helping them find joy in the water.

What inspired your career and what do you love about coaching? "I want to empower kids to learn to swim and find the same enjoyment as I do around the water."
What is your advice for women looking to build confidence? "Do the things that make you happy! Choose activities that motivate you and that you genuinely enjoy. When you do what you are passionate about, the confidence will follow."
How do you stay motivated and prioritise your wellbeing? "Work life balance is key. For me, family comes first, so any activity I can do with my son is motivating. Finding fun in your job and doing what you love means you can take true pride in what you do!"
Meet Cheyenne
From high school sports to the pool deck, Cheyenne’s passion for fitness has always been her driving force.

What inspired your career and what do you love about coaching? "I’ve always enjoyed sports and was involved in every school carnival and excellence program. Now, I get to help others find that same passion."
What is your advice for women looking to build confidence? "We all have to start somewhere. Just take that first step and soon enough you’ll see it was all worth it."
How do you stay motivated and prioritise your wellbeing? "I love working with my team at BlueFit, so I make sure to get enough rest, exercise, and eat healthy so I never have to miss a day with them!"
Meet Clara
Clara uses her own experience as a competitive swimmer to mentor and build confidence in young girls.

What inspired your career and what do you love about coaching? "I looked up to my own coaches who helped me stay disciplined and taught me how to love myself. I love instilling those values in the next generation and watching them grow as people."
What is your advice for women looking to build confidence? "Don't worry about what everyone else thinks. I promise you, everyone is doing their own thing and isn't watching you. You’re there for you, and every bit of effort you put in is a step toward becoming a better version of yourself."
How do you stay motivated and prioritise your wellbeing? "I believe discipline is just as important as motivation. I prioritise staying healthy over just 'looks'. If you feel great, you’ll always shine from within!"
