Top 5 Reasons to Get Your Child into Sport

Feb Newsletter Headings (11)

There are hundreds of sports out there to choose from, some focus on coordination, balance, speed or stamina but they all involve most of the same elements that benefit children growing up.

  1. Social aspects
Getting children involved in group classes or sports that require teamwork is an excellent way for children to interact with other kids. Social interaction is important for children to learn communication skills, the development of their personality and building friendships.
  2. Physical health
Most sports include a good amount of physical activity, including running, throwing, catching, balance, and hand-eye coordination. These are important to keep your child fit and healthy growing up. It is also a good place to use up all the energy they possess to get a good nights sleep.
  3. Mental health
It is scientifically proven that physical activity is connected to increasing your mental health, being active produces endorphins which makes you feel happier, less stressed and more relaxed, and relaxed children = relaxed parents.
  4. Teaches them life lessons
Sport and playing matches or competitions teaches children many life lessons such as being a good sport, to understand how to respond when you win, and when you lose in a game and at things in life. Being involved in a sporting class also teaches kids how to be disciplined, patient and how to follow instructions.
  5. A new way to connect with your child
As well as being apart of the sport, watching them train or compete, you can bond with your child over the professional games and professional players of the activity. Getting your child into sport will give you and the child the opportunity to turn their love of sport into an activity they love doing together with you.
