Staff Spotlight

Staff Spotlight cover

Every facility relies on its dedicated early-bird staff, the ones who roll out of a warm bed and rock up at dawn, braving the frosty, pitch-black winter mornings day after day without fail. While the rest of the world is still hitting the snooze button, these team members are already out on the floor, prepping the equipment and setting the standard for the day ahead.

They don’t just show up to clock in; they bring the energy. This month, the focus is on highlighting the incredible staff who physically and mentally warm up the facilities with their resilient, upbeat attitudes. Their dedication is contagious, proving that a little cold weather is absolutely no match for a strong work ethic and positive outlook.

Meet Goddy

At Hurstville Aquatic, that early-morning dedication is perfectly exemplified by one of our incredible Duty Managers, Goddy. He is the familiar, welcoming face ensuring the centre is ready to go long before the sun even comes up.

For Goddy, braving the winter chill is all about serving the people who walk through the doors.

“While the cold mornings are tough, I know just how vital this facility is to our local community and their health and wellness,” he shares. “Whether it’s visitors coming for their daily swim, relaxing in the sauna, or working on their fitness journey, it is vital we provide a positive and welcoming space for all to enjoy!”

It is this shared commitment between the staff and the community that keeps the momentum going through the colder months. As Goddy perfectly sums it up:

“Knowing that I consistently see the same dedication in the members and guests, and the smiles on their faces, makes getting up early completely worth it!”
